Italy and me
I fell in love with Italy the first time I came here. It took me a while to turn the dream into reality but I’ve now lived on my olive farm in Central Italy for twenty years where I have guest apartments, too many cats and dogs and a life firmly rooted in the local community.
A life in Italy
For me the joy of living in Italy isn’t only about the built environment and the landscape but also the culture and the people. My little local town has a beautiful theatre where the annual season is fully booked, our region has a wide variety of musical events and then, of course, there is the food. My Italian husband maintains an enormous vegetable garden, harvests our olives, gathers mushrooms and makes sure that we eat the right sort of sugo with each pasta shape.

My passion for houses and everything architectural dates back to my peripatetic childhood in South Africa and the UK; my practical knowledge in how buildings work began with my degree in architecture and has been enriched by my experiences over the years in running building projects for foreigners in my part of Italy.
